What is a LifeGroup?
A LIFEGROUP is an assembly of adults in a home, every week or every
other week, that study the Bible together; pray together; and just
spend time fellowshipping with one another.
Why are LIFEGROUPS needed?
LIFEGROUPS provide a tremendous opportunity to experience
the joy of fellowship in the warm and relaxing atmosphere of a home.
Many who have been in LIFEGROUPS talk of the deeper level of intimacy
they have reached with others in their group.
Churches only thrive when everyone is connected
into a Small Group. As of right now, we do not have a place where
we could do LIFEGROUPS at the church.
Our growth will plateau unless we find other alternatives
to just our worship service. We may not be able to meet at the Church,
but we have unlimited room to grow in homes.
LIFEGROUPS have other benefits, such as reaching those who wouldn't
normally attend a Church Service. Many who fear church, find homes
an approachable place to learn about God.
LIFEGROUPS allow for more flexible scheduling,
finding a night that is convenient for all involved.
How are LIFEGROUPS organized?
LIFEGROUP Host - responsible for the overall administration
of the LIFEGROUP.
As you move into a position of leadership,
we will be happy to go over the specifics of each position.
When do LIFEGROUPS meet?
A LIFEGROUP meets 2-4 times a month. This could
be every week or every other week, depending on what the group decides.
Most LIFEGROUPS last about 1 1/2 hours by the time everyone arrives,
socializes, discusses the lesson, prays and says its goodbyes.
Every other week helps some groups with childcare
issues, while singles, couples with no children, and empty nesters
could meet every week. This is up to your group.
Groups can meet any time of the week. Whatever is
the best time for each group.
Where do LIFEGROUPS meet?
Iin homes. The groups will be organized geographically
to help penetrate several areas of our community.
What about the children?
There are a number of options in this area.
Members get their own childcare and enjoy the night
out.
Enlist baby-sitters paid by the group to watch all the kids at a
nearby house.
LIFEGROUP members rotate responsibility to watch the kids at a nearby
house.
Enlist someone outside the group to teach the children while you
meet (this is their ministry).
Children stay with the group as a part of a family fellowship. Depends
on the age and maturity of the children.
What curriculum will the LIFEGROUPS use?
The guidelines of these groups are put into place
by our Pastor and the LIFEGROUP Pastor. The Host and the Lifegroup
Pastor will work together in selecting the curriculum. We have many
sample Bible studies in our offices and you can schedule a time
to drop by and peruse them.
We ask that you assess the needs and maturity of
your group and choose a curriculum appropriately.
Who decides who attends each LIFEGROUP?
Attendees from your group will come from three areas:
Neighbors, friends, co-workers that you and others
in your group invite.
New members and visitors to our church that we point to your group.
We will have information on your roll, the age range of its members,
the topic you are studying and the level of the material.
Other church members that see the advantages to LIFEGROUPS and want
to be involved.
LIFEGROUPS that are meeting are open to
new members:
